Product Description

The Clow ABS Industrial Stepladder is a heavy duty step which is a robust, hard wearing product. Suitable for heavy duty and industrial use this ladder has a safe working load of 175kg. The ABS step ladder is constructed at out Midlands depot in the UK using channel section front stiles and a box section rear frame with extruded treads. Unlike many similar classification of step ladders ours are made with an overall taller open height, giving access to harder to reach areas.

This step is available in 11 and 12 tread and both of these stepladders are fitted with non-slip, non-marking PVC feet and a GRP reinforced tool tray.

  Manufactured in the UK at our Clow Ladder Factory, Clow Group (Midlands) Division, Oldhill, Cradley Heath, West Midlands.

Note: the relative sizes of swing back step ladders are often specified by their tread count - swing back steps traditionally include the very top section of the step ladder in the tread count. For example a six tread swing back step consists of five treads plus the very top section of the step ladder.

Please note that not all stepladders are made to the same height, our Clow ABS stepladder is taller than most allowing for a much higher reach point than possible with many competitors with the same tread count.

This product is manufactured in compliance with the former BS2037:1994 Class 1 specification and provides a maximum load of 175kg. Please note this British Standard has now been replaced by EN131-1:2015 and EN131-2:2-10+A2:2017 specifications. During the transition period between the old and new standards ladders manufactured to the previous specification are still available while stocks last.

Note: ¹ when you count the number of treads on a step you should include the step top within the tread count.

Note: not all manufacturers treat tread counts or tread heights the same - when you compare swingback steps compare the overall step height not the number of treads as some manufacturers keep tread spacing short.

Note: ensure your step is the correct size for the task at hand - when using a stepladder you should not stand on the top three treads, (including the step at the very top of the ladder), unless there is a suitable handhold. Always maintain three points of contact when climbing the ladder and whenever possible in the work position, (ie. a hand and two feet).
